Compounded medication. Prepared and dispensed by VSDH, a state-licensed compounding pharmacy, under an individual prescription from a licensed provider. Julora Health is a telehealth platform. It is not a pharmacy and does not compound or manufacture medications. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality.

Your card is saved securely when you order and is only charged after a licensed provider reviews your medical intake and approves treatment. A provider typically completes this review within 24 to 48 hours. If the provider does not approve treatment for you, you are not charged and nothing ships. Completing an order is not a prescription and does not guarantee one.

After checkout you complete a short medical intake. A licensed provider from Beluga Health LLC reviews it within 24 to 48 hours and decides whether treatment is appropriate for you.

What this is.

A 12-week clinician-led program for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or type 2 diabetes. You complete a medical intake, a licensed clinician in your state reviews it, and if treatment is appropriate they build a plan, order it to your door, and review your progress at each check-in.

If treatment is not appropriate for you, you are told why and you are not charged.

How it works.

GLP-1 receptor agonists slow gastric emptying and act on appetite-regulating pathways in the brain, which reduces hunger and food intake.

Treatment always starts low and increases slowly to limit nausea. It is intended to be used together with changes to eating habits and physical activity, not as a stand-alone solution. Your clinician sets and adjusts your plan.

Who it may be appropriate for.

  • Adults whose health history and current weight suggest that clinician-supervised weight management may be appropriate.
  • People who have made changes to diet and activity and are looking for additional, medically supervised support.
  • People without the conditions listed below, as confirmed through your intake and clinician review.

Key risks.

  • In animal studies, this class of medication caused thyroid C-cell tumors. It is not known whether this happens in people, which is why a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2 rules out use.
  • Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), which can cause severe abdominal pain.
  • Gallbladder problems, including gallstones.
  • Low blood sugar, especially if you also take insulin or a sulfonylurea.
  • Kidney problems, which can be brought on by dehydration from vomiting or diarrhea.
  • Changes in vision.
  • Serious allergic reactions.
  • Slowed stomach emptying, which can affect other medications and surgery with anesthesia.
  • Changes in mood, including new or worsening depression or thoughts of self-harm.

Who should not use it.

  • You are under 18, pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • You or a family member have had medullary thyroid carcinoma, or you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2).
  • You have a personal history of pancreatitis.
  • You have a serious digestive condition, including a problem with slowed stomach emptying.
  • You have a known serious allergy to the medication or any of its components.
  • You have severe kidney disease, or a history of diabetic retinopathy that has not been evaluated recently.

Common side effects.

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
  • Constipation.
  • Stomach pain or bloating.
  • Fatigue.
  • Reactions where the medication is given.

What a course of care looks like.

  • You complete a secure online medical intake about your health history, current medications, and goals.
  • A licensed clinician in your state reviews your information and decides whether treatment is appropriate for you. You are not charged unless treatment is approved.
  • If treatment is approved, your prescription is sent to a state-licensed pharmacy, which prepares it and ships it to your door.
  • You stay in touch with your care team through secure messaging, and your clinician reviews your progress at each check-in.

How it ships and who dispenses it.

When to seek care.

  • Get emergency care for severe or persistent abdominal pain, signs of a serious allergic reaction, a lump or swelling in your neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing, or thoughts of harming yourself.
  • Contact your clinician promptly for vision changes, signs of low blood sugar, or symptoms that do not improve.

Interactions and things to tell your provider.

  • Insulin and sulfonylureas, which can increase the risk of low blood sugar.
  • Other medications for diabetes or weight management, including any other GLP-1 or GIP receptor medicine.
  • Oral medications that depend on normal stomach emptying, since this treatment can slow digestion.
  • Blood thinners such as warfarin.
  • Any planned surgery or procedure requiring anesthesia. Tell the anesthesia team you are on this treatment, since slowed stomach emptying can affect anesthesia safety.
